Apple je včeraj izdal nov software update za iPhone z oznako 2.2.1. Posodobitev naj bi izboljšala stabilnost Safarija, odpravi bug pri shranjevanju slik iz Maila in odpiranju v Camera roll. Vendar, ne posodobljajte tako hitro! Lastniki jailbreakanih telefonov berite dalje.

Nekaj ur po prihodu nove posodobitve je Dev team spet izdal prepoved posodabljanja če želite obdržati Jailbreak. Prav tako pa je prišla na dan novica da je Apple izdal posodobitev samo zato, da bi izničil yell0wsnow patch, ki ga je izdal Dev team in omogoča odklep zaklenjenih iPhone 3G.

Moj nasvet je, da ne posodabljate dokler Dev team ne reče drugače :)

Preserving the baseband will ensure that you can still use “yellowsn0w” the iPhone 3G unlock application. To upgrade your phone to 2.2.1 and preserve the state of the baseband you need to create a custom .ipsw with PwnageTool. This custom .ipsw will not contain the baseband update but of course will still give you any new stuff from 2.2.1

There are plenty of tutorials about this process on the web, but PwnageTool contains intuitive graphics and easy to follow prompts that should have you up and running in no time at all. Please note: PwnageTool is only available for Mac OS X." (via Dev team blog)
